February 2015 Intake (Semester 40) Summary

ACICIS Study Indonesia is very excited to announce its largest semester cohort ever in the 20 years of ACICIS’ existence. In January/February 2015 ACICIS sent 76 students from twenty-one Australian, UK and US universities to participate in seven ACICIS semester programs.

2015 Practicum Program Summary

In January 2015 ACICIS welcomed 73 students from sixteen Australian/NZ universities to participate in the three ACICIS Practicum Programs.

Second Recipient of the Lestari Widyastuti Scholarship

This scholarship honours the commitment, hard work and passion for builing people-to-people relations between young Australian and Indonesian students by former ACICIS staff member, Lestari Widyastuti, who sadly passed away in 2007. Australian Foreign Minister visits ACICIS

On Saturday 14 July 2012, a group of ACICIS students were invited to meet with the Australian Foreign Minister Senator Bob Carr, during his visit to Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The meeting was a unique opportunity for university students and participants in a school tour from Perth’s Scotch College to talk to the Minister about their experiences and the value of learning language in-country.

Australian Federal Government Inquiry backs ACICIS

On 23 June 2003 the head of ACICIS, Professor David Hill, gave evidence before the Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade of the Parliament of the Commonwealth of Australia. They were inquiring into Australia's relationship with Indonesia. They released their report in May 2004.
